Bill's Bio

Bill is a fourth generation SF East Bay Area native who developed his love of football watching the Cal Bears with his family on Saturdays. His love of the Draft developed early as he would rise early and “steal” the newspaper from the front porch to pour over the draft lists to see which teams had drafted his favorite Cal players. He earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry at Santa Clara while rooting on future NFL QB Dante Pastorini and future NFL referee RB Mike Carey. After graduation he pursued four years of graduate school – MS Chemistry from Notre Dame and MBA from Chicago and returned to the Bay Area to work in the finance dept. at Chevron for 22 years. During his later years at Chevron he began participating at in draft discussions and mock drafts. Upon retirement he assumed a more prominent role at and took over the “Draft Czar” role in 2007 or 2008 (I can’t remember). He kept rankings current, supervised the writing of profiles by members, and ran mock drafts, as well as providing his own unique draft content. He has his own mancave with twin 50-inch screens and records and watches 15 or so college games a week and applies his own unique analytical approach to ranking players as well as keeping an eye on what everyone else is doing.
